Elon Musk has shortened countless federal work in the past 50 days, but if tesla sales fall, job losses may soon be closer to home.
As the seemingly US -faced President, Musk has left to lose his BROS gang unqualified to cancel rents, eliminate congregation -funded programs, and fires large federal employees. This approach “move fast and Break Things” is not popular for the public, and Musk’s affiliation with the government efficiency department is now affecting Tesla sales. (In case the big step of sales by Donald Trump on the White House lawn did not leave you.)
Tesla’s sales have been prone. On Monday, her stock had the worst day in five years, dropping 15% or 50% of its peak value in December. (The shares were little gathered, probably the result of investors trying to get a deal. The biggest decline was in Germany, at 76% between February 2024 and February 2025.
Anyone who seeks to connect the numbers to Musk’s actions can turn into data on progress, which in February surveyed over 1,000 potential voters for their feelings to Musk and how he made them feel about buying a tesla. Nearly half (45%) said they were less likely to buy a tesla because of the musk. This was more visible to Democrats (66%) than independent (50%) or Republicans (22%).
The negative impact of Musk on Tesla is felt beyond these numbers. The feeling observed on the road began in Germany; After Musk made the Sieg Heil gesture (a crime in Germany) in Trump’s inauguration, political activists predicted an image of the moment and the word “Heil” in a factory near Berlin.

In the US, a move called Tesla Takedown spread online with calls to sell tesla shares in order to reduce musk wealth and thus its political impact. It has resulted in protests in the Tesla exhibition hall across the country. Some have received the call for weapons a little more literally, with incidents involving Molotov cocktails and vandalism in traders.

Those who drive Teslas and Cybertrucks have discovered that their vehicles are pariah on wheels. Cybebertrucks have become wild (in this economy!) And they are dyed with dogs, and Tesla drivers are regularly haunted by Nazi greetings and the remaining signs in their cars. Many of them are selling their cars, often with losses. On Facebook, a member of the Cybertruck owners forum posted that the Congress should make the speech anti-tesla a hate crime. Ironic, given what is at the main essence of all this.
